The (Tulsa) Oklahoma Educational Memorial Trust Foundation was formed in 1957 by a group of educational associations in the Tulsa Public Schools.*
All graduating seniors in Tulsa Public Schools may apply online in March of each year at okscholarships.org. After the 2017 awards are made, the Foundation will have sent over $2,700,000 to colleges on behalf of almost 3,500 students over the years since it was formed. Students can use the money for tuition, books, fees, and room and board at the college of their choice. Our goal is to help students successfully begin their college career.
After review by the Foundation’s Scholarship Committee, we will give over $61,000 to TPS students in 2017.
Currently, the value of our portfolio is approximately $2,000,000, and the OEMTF has the tax-exempt status of 501(c)(3).
Donations to the Foundation are gratefully accepted in remembrance of a deceased person or in honor of a living person. Other organizations, PTA groups, corporations, or individuals may also make contributions by clicking here.
Checks for contributions can also be made out to the Oklahoma Educational Memorial Trust Foundation and sent directly to the organization at the Education Service Center.
*Founding groups were the Tulsa Education Association, Tulsa Classroom Teachers Association, Tulsa City Parent-Teachers Association, Senior High School Principals’ Association, Junior High Schools Principals’ Association, Elementary School Principals’ Association, and the Superintendent of Schools.
